“It’s Getting Hot in Herre” — The Benefits of Regular Sauna Use

The Sauna
Now, some may associate sauna use with retirement, thinking it's for old men or the occasional Swede (although saunas do originate in Finland), but that could not be further from the truth. Scientists and health experts have been boasting about the robust benefits of saunas for years, but now leading experts believe saunas to be even more beneficial than before.
Cardiovascular Health
Consistent sauna use significantly improves cardiovascular health. Studies show that men who use saunas 4-7 times per week reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease mortality by 51% and their risk of developing hypertension by 47% compared to those who use saunas only once a week.
Neurodegenerative Diseases
Saunas also protect against neurological diseases and can be categorized as neuroprotective. Finnish cohort studies indicate that men using saunas 4-7 times per week have a 66% lower risk of developing dementia and a 65% lower risk of Alzheimer's disease compared to those who do not use saunas at all. The increased expression of heat shock proteins from heat exposure is what contributes to these protective effects.
Finally
If available to you, incorporating regular sauna use into your routine can bring substantial benefits, including improved cardiovascular and metabolic health, enhanced mental well-being, and reduced risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Dementia. For detailed study findings, look to the comprehensive review by Tyler Anderson and colleagues in "Medical Research Archives".

“The Psychology of a Warrior” — Connor McGregor and His Mindset

Taking Responsibility
Conor McGregor’s journey from a plumber to one of the most famous figures in Mixed Martial Arts is a result of his philosophy of personal accountability. As McGregor famously said, “Nothing good ever comes from sitting there worrying or sitting there feeling sorry for yourself… Keep positive and keep pushing on and things will turn good.”
Unwavering Self-Belief
McGregor’s self-belief is unparalleled. His confidence has been so infectious that it has influenced millions around the world. The world saw this when he stepped into the boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather, despite having a 0–0 boxing record, against Mayweather's 49-0. McGregor’s confidence convinced even sports analysts that he had a chance to win. His self-belief, even in the face of losses and setbacks, showcases the importance of believing in oneself as a foundational element of success.
Relentless Hard Work
“There’s no talent here, this is hard work. This is an obsession,” McGregor said, emphasizing that success is a result of effort rather than innate talent although for him it is probably a combination of both. According to McGregor, hard work is the great equalizer that can elevate anyone. He believes that while talent may exist, it is dedication and obsession that has led him to his greatness.
Conor McGregor's mentality, characterized by taking responsibility, unwavering self-belief, and relentless hard work, offers a powerful blueprint for overcoming challenges. His journey from humble beginnings to a global icon serves as an inspiring example of how adopting certain principles can profoundly impact one’s life. Connor lives everyday with the mindset of a warrior.

“They just don’t make ‘em like they used to” — An Ancient Greek House Fits High Design Aesthetics of Today

A Historic Transformation
Two designers, Dimitris Pantazopoulos and Themistocle Antoniadis, have brought back life into one of the oldest houses on the Greek island Patmos, known as the Island of the Apocalypse. Stripping away the modern add-ons and reverting the house to its historic bones.
Embracing Traditional Aspects
The project focused on stripping away its modernity to expose the house's original style. The house features humble, vernacular furniture typical of a Dodecanese home: a broad wooden platform with antique Pierre Frey fabric mattresses. The entrance hall of the courtyard features a wooden Tuscan lantern and wide oak floorboards that match the original ceilings.
A Nod to the Past
The fireplace is fitted with a three-tiered Greek Epirus, antique painted Italian tiles, a 16th-century İznik plate on the mantelpiece, and a 19th-century icon on the wall. These decorations work hard to pay homage to the cross-cultural history that characterizes life on this island, with influences from Venice, Istanbul, and Cairo.
